My husband and I had decided to downsize and move from our two-story, custom built, greek revival to a home all on one level, a ranch. We had been looking for a couple of months and had met with a few different builders but could not find a home that suited us. Then I came across a home that was under construction by Monsour Builders. It was almost ready for drywall so I was able to see the framing, the mechanicals, and the materials used. I was impressed with the quality of the materials and the obvious pride taken when installing the mechanicals. This was spec housing but the materials were what you would expect in a custom built home. The plumbing and wiring was very neatly done. The foundation was large and the walls were tall. The home was just under 1900 sf. Three bedrooms, two full baths and an open floor plan for kitchen, dining and living room areas. Perfect! I watched the home over the next several weeks. The lot was in a nice neighborhood and just over 1 acre.

Our home had not sold yet but as completion neared on the ranch we decided to buy it rather than risk losing it. It was a smart move. We have lived in it almost a year now and it is a very nice home. Very comfortable and well designed. High ceilings and wide mouldings throughout. It has a generous sized kitchen with lots of cabinets. And there are plenty of storage areas throughout. I did not think I could get a home so well done without commissioning it but I was wrong. Monsour Builders can be trusted to build a beautiful home, well designed, and comfortable with quality materials and seasoned craftsman paying attention to all the details.

We love our home and so does everyone that visits it. It is the envy of so many. I have had people stop by to say, “I should have bought it when I first saw it. It is a beautiful home.”

Late in 2020, we were looking to build a new home in the Queensbury area. Dealt with several builders and then found a lot with a house to be built by Monsour builders. We went thru the process and went to contract. Within 2 weeks of signing the contract, the building permit was already obtained! The lot was started to be cleared on January 25th and we closed exactly 5 months later on June 25th. Dave made the building process soo easy. Sent pictures every step of the way. Was always willing to answer any question we had. Was always willing to work with us when we wanted to upgrade something and spelled everything out clearly. After the 1st appraisal by the bank, the appraiser stated the home was above average build quality. Our realtor had never seen that stated in an appraisal, speaking to the high quality that Dave strives for in every house he builds. I highly recommend  that if you are looking to build a new home in the Queensbury area, look to Dave Monsour and Monsour Builders to build your new home. If he has a waiting list, I would wait for him to build your new home if you can, it will be worth the wait!

Jon and I want to thank both you, and your dad, for building us a beautiful, comfortable home. We were anxious about building from the ground up, but from the minute Jon saw the foundation poured, we knew we were in good hands and the quality would be excellent. It is. I appreciated the photos and progress updates as the build continued. The fact that it was completed before the end of June – your estimated completion date – made us both very happy. Thank you again for our lovely home. I think we’ll be very happy here.
